'Keys to Success' – a therapeutic group following conversion attempts

When a breach of trust occurs, rebuilding is required. This is a process that takes time, especially if the harm stems from "the treatment" and the "therapists" - as is the case in many cases of conversion attempts.

Discovering and dealing with a sexual identity that is not heterosexual brings with it many challenges and different ways of doing things.

In search of a way to deal with the orientation, some turn to conversion "therapy" in the hope that this is what will help them. Be like everyone else, feel "normal".

The harm of these "therapy" may last for years.
 

"Towards the Upward" is a workshop and group for empowerment, support and processing of difficult experiences, along with identifying points of light, strength and optimism.
 

The guidance and professional guidance will be led by Dr. Eyal Zak, a clinical social worker and lecturer, who has been treating LGBTQ people for nearly two decades.

The workshop is held within the framework of "Mishani" - the Center for the Struggle against Conversion, led by Hevrata and the Gay Center.

The duration of the workshop is 10 face-to-face meetings, starting in October 2023 (Chesvan 5744; exact details will be provided to registrants).
 

Total cost: 400 NIS for all meetings (the fee includes ten group meetings and the possibility of six personal sessions with a psychologist at no additional cost).
