Europe
Albania – According to the ethics of the National Association of Psychologists, the treatmenprohibite
Germany – A blanket ban on conversion therapy for minors, a legal ban on conversion therapy for adults if performed under fraud or coercion
Malta – A blanket ban on performing conversion therapy
Netherlands – Conversion therapy is not subsidized or funded by the Dutch health insurance
Norway – It is against the ethics of the Association of Psychologists in the country
Spain – It is prohibited by law in several autonomous regions
Switzerland – According to the government, the prohibition falls under the therapist’s obligation to adhere to the rules of ethics, and therefore such a therapist is exposed to anti-criminal activity
England – Regular government activity against conversion therapy
America
Brazil – A ban by law that is also anchored in the ethical norm of the Association of Psychologists
Canada – Prohibited by law in most federal states, government in the process of statewide legislation on the matter
Chile – Treatment that is against the ethics of the Chilean Ministry of Health
Ecuador – Prohibited under the law for the prevention of torture
USA – Banned in 20 states by law
Araguaia – Comprehensive ban by law
Asia and Oceania
Australia – Government actions against conversion therapy according to a government agenda and legal ban to varying degrees in several states in the federation
China – The Court of Appeal has ruled several times in favor of patients for compensation and an apology, but has not set a nail in the coffin
Fiji – Banned under the Mental Health Act
India – This is against the position of the Indian Psychiatric Association
Samoa – Comprehensive ban on conversion therapy
Taiwan – Banned by law in the entire country
Africa
South Africa – Against the position of the country’s psychiatric association
